Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how AI for Humanity Private Limited (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses and shares personal information when you use Maya, our apps for iOS and Android, our websites and related services (together, the “Services”).

1. Information we collect

Information you give us

• Account information. Details about you and your account, such as your name and phone number.
• Content. Everything you send, upload or share with Maya, such as messages, requests, photos, images, files, audio and voice, and the replies Maya gives you.
• Memory and preferences. What Maya learns about you and your preferences from your conversations, and the settings you choose.
• Tasks and orders. The tasks, reminders, alarms, lists, bags, orders and bookings you ask Maya to handle.
• Payment information. If you pay for anything through Maya, your payment details and transaction history. Payments may be handled by the app store or a payment provider.
• Communications. What you send us when you contact us, such as your name, contact details and your message.

Information we collect when you use the Services

• Log data. Information your device sends automatically, such as your IP address, the date and time of each request, and how you interact with the Services.
• Usage data. How you use the Services, such as the features you use, the actions you take, your time zone, and when you use them.
• Device information. Your device type, operating system, app version and device identifiers, including those used to send you notifications.
• Location. If you allow it, location from your device, including precise location such as GPS. Some features, such as place reminders, use your location even when the app is closed.
• Cookies and similar technologies. Used to keep you signed in and to run the Services.

Information from other sources

• From the sign-in service you choose, when you sign in with it.
• From stores and other services you connect or ask Maya to use, to complete your requests.

2. How we use information

• To provide, run and maintain the Services, for example to reply to you and complete what you ask.
• To improve and develop the Services and to conduct research, including improving the AI models that power Maya.
• To personalize Maya for you, including through memory, suggestions and reminders.
• To process payments.
• To communicate with you, including notifications and information about the Services and changes to them.
• To keep the Services safe and secure, and to prevent fraud, abuse and misuse.
• To comply with the law and to protect the rights, safety and property of our users, us and others.

We may also combine information or remove details so that it no longer identifies you, and use it for these purposes.

3. AI, voice and human review

• AI answers can be wrong. Maya's answers are made by AI and may be inaccurate, incomplete or out of date. Check important information, and do not rely on Maya for medical, legal, financial or other professional advice.
• Human review. Some conversations may be reviewed by trained people to improve Maya and keep the Services safe. Do not share information you would not want reviewed.
• Voice. If the microphone is turned on by mistake, for example by an accidental tap, what it picks up may be processed like any other voice input.

4. How we share information

• Vendors and service providers. To run the Services, we share information with vendors and service providers, such as providers of hosting, cloud, AI, search, shopping, payment, communication, notification, security and support services.
• Services you ask Maya to use. When you ask Maya to use a store or another service, we share what is needed to complete your request. Their own terms and privacy policies apply to what they receive.
• Organizations. If you use Maya through an account provided by an organization, such as your employer, its administrators may be able to access and manage your account and your content.
• Business transfers. If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization or sale of assets, information may be shared or transferred as part of that transaction.
• Legal reasons. We may share information when the law requires it, or to protect the rights, safety and property of our users, us or others, and to detect or prevent fraud, abuse or illegal activity.

We do not sell your personal information.

5. Keeping and deleting your information

We keep personal information for as long as we need it to provide the Services, or for other legitimate purposes such as safety and security, resolving disputes, and meeting legal obligations. How long depends on the type of information and how we use it.

You can delete your account at any time:

• On iOS: open the side bar, tap your name at the bottom, then tap Delete account, and confirm if the app asks.
• On Android: open the side bar, tap your name at the bottom, tap Delete account, then tap Delete my account.
• By email: write to hello@ciaomaya.com from the address on your account with the subject “Delete my Maya account”. We will try our best to complete email requests within 30 days.

When you delete your account, we delete your account and the information linked to it from the Services. We may keep some information for longer where we need it for legitimate reasons, such as security, fraud prevention or legal obligations, and information that no longer identifies you. 6. Your choices and rights

• Delete your account at any time, as described above.
• Ask for a copy of your personal information by emailing hello@ciaomaya.com.

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete your personal information, and to withdraw your consent. To make a request, email hello@ciaomaya.com. We may need to confirm your identity before we act on a request. For complaints and grievances, contact our Grievance Officer, whose details are on our Support page. If you are in India, you may also complain to the Data Protection Board of India. Local laws where you live may give you other rights; to use them, email hello@ciaomaya.com.

7. Children

The Services are not for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have, we will delete it.

8. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

9. International users

We are based in India. If you access the Services from another country, your information may be processed in India or other locations where we or our providers operate.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the updated version here and change the “Last updated” date. If we make significant changes, we will tell you, for example in the app or by email.
